Make Life A Little Easier For Your Child In The 21st Century

I have 2 kids, ages 5 and 9, and I know they're highly unlikely to follow the same educational path I did. This century's rapid development of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and digital systems has convinced me that almost every aspect of our children's lives will be different from ours.

Just look at the toys they play with. Touchscreen devices have overtaken dolls, action figures, board games and other traditional toys—and experts (from Michael Cohen Group) say their popularity is still skyrocketing.

At this rate, who knows what kind of job market our children will enter 15 years down the road? After all, emerging jobs thriving now in this digital age were all unheard of a decade ago—drone pilot, data analyst, blogger, app designer, just to name a few.

In an era of fast-paced technological and scientific breakthroughs, our kids will need to become nimble and comfortable with lifelong learning to keep up. Considering that the more new technology and machines we discover, the more we have to learn new skills.

What if there's a way our children can develop life skills that will help them solve problems in almost any discipline, while learning fundamental skills needed for the digital age? Here's the best part: They will have fun the whole time without finding it a chore!

Introducing Ripple Tech Program

Be Creators of Technology—
Not Just Users

Understanding technology is not the same thing as using technology. Let your child know what's going on behind the scenes of their favourite games by learning to speak computer language (through coding). After all, in a world where most jobs involve programming and dealing with software, coding has become the new worldwide language. Instead of simply playing a video game or flying a drone, they will be able to give shape to characters, create stories and settings—tapping into their creativity and imagination.

Think
different

When kids code, they take complex problems and break them down into smaller parts. Kids learn to not freeze on the bigger problem but rather,to understand it by breaking it down and finding solutions to small issues. This builds up their resilience, enabling them to work through challenges and obstacles without giving up easily.Even if they never become professional software engineers, your children will benefit from knowing how to think critically. It will help them understand and master technology of all sorts and solve problems in almost any discipline.

Develop Digital
Quotient (DQ)

Born in the 21st century, our children enter a hyper-connected world. Their digital footprint starts from birth and they grow up immersed in the digital world. What they do on the Internet and whom they interact with online will greatly influence their identity, well-being and development. This is why we make sure that our students are equipped with the necessary safety knowledge and technical, mental and social skills to deal with these challenges of living in a digital world—and thrive.

Don't take our word for it. Watch how our class is run and hear what parents say about us!

I was skeptical about letting my son start on computer games and game coding as it exposes him to something that I have always kept him away from. But the course was a blast for him. He learned a lot, not just about game coding and usage of a PC but about planning for a game, getting feedback and improving it. These skills are not just for game coding. It's exactly what I have been teaching him to plan for his composition writing. He now knows that he needs to have a macro view of a story/his game plan and then work on the details of it. That has helped him a lot in his thinking skills. The teacher and teacher assistants for the class were great and patient folks. It was not easy to manage a bunch of enthusiastic kids in a class and I think they did great

What to Expect From Ripple Tech Program?

2-year Progressive Syllabus

We want your child to be able to remember and apply the skills they learn for life. This is why, instead of offering short workshops that cover the surface of ICT topics, we go deep into concepts with a clear progression structure for ICT education.

These 14 future skills subjects are updated annually to ensure the latest technology trends in the industry are available for our learners.

Competition Opportunities

Your child will be invited to participate in RippleUX, a national coding and robotics competition co-organised by ripplecreate, NYP and NTU. This is to encourage students to challenge themselves and validate their learning. They may also be exposed to opportunities to participate in other local and overseas tech-based competitions for youths (up to the Olympiad level competition in Informatics) and receive appropriate training.

Co-Organizers and Partners

Accreditation

Your child will receive transcripts, certificates and awards to validate their achievements in the program. To spur them in their learning journey, they can also look forward to receiving badges for every module they master. By the end of several semesters with us, they can have bragging rights to their own unique collection! Many parents have told us that the accreditations help to build up their child's credential when applying for schools.

Who Can Join?

5-6 Years Old

At this stage, your child begins to understand logic, three to five step commands, and the difference between reality and fantasy. It's the best time for children to learn coding, because their brains are still developing and learning "how to learn". It’s the kind of thinking we want our kids to be doing for healthy expression of creativity, critical thinking, and abstract thinking. It is also fun for children to identify what coding programs do in everyday life as almost every vehicle, appliance, phones, and even some toys are programmed.

7-13 Years Old

Give your child an unfair advantage in school with computational thinking skills. While the majority is still learning through memorizing facts, your child will be able to apply computational thinking that involves elements of math, logic and algorithms to solve problems of any kind. What's more, it's a great way to exercise both left (logical) and right brain (creative) and develop independent thinking skills.

"Learning to write programs stretches your mind and helps you think better, creates a way of thinking about things that I think is helpful in all domains."

-Bill Gates, Co-founder, Microsoft

Why Choose Us

Extensive Track Record

We are the official ICT and Technology course service provider of IMDA and a Registered Private Operator by People's Association. To date, we have benefited more than 10,000 students with a wide, diverse range of domains from coding and robotics to cyber security. Our comprehensive technology curriculum has also been trusted by international schools and other educational chains to meet their students' learning interests and objectives.

Fun and Engaging Learning

Children of our program don't just listen to the trainers and stay at their seats all the time. Beyond fun-filled hands-on activities, we extend children's learning by encouraging them to share, reflect and apply concepts learnt to real-life challenges.

Optimal Teacher-student Ratio

Our optimal 1:6 teacher-student ratio ensures your child will get the attention and support they need to reach their highest potential. You can be assured that your child is in good hands as all our trainers are registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and loveworking with children.

More On What Parents Say About Us

It didn't take long for us to realize this is no ordinary course that could capture a boy's attention! To our surprise, as each day went by, our rambunctious boy came back smiling, losing signs of all his initial resistance but instead looked forward to class every day! And who is not attracted when learning is using fun toys like drones, robotics, circuitries and even digital photography specially catered to young and curious kids?

So we are in changing times. Soon, pen and paper would be things of the past. (Case in point -I am using Evernote to write this, not pen & paper!) Though I hate I say this -technology is here to stay (where I struggle with my kid's increasing time on it). I have to learn to embrace it to my advantage. If we can't win them, join them! Thank you ripplecreate for bringing out that 'gems' in my son!
